Hi, I’m Roshni.
I'm a graphic designer from Chennai, India, currently based in New York. I hold an MFA in Communications Design from Pratt Institute, where I also worked with the Office of International Affairs. Prior to that, I contributed to Ashvita’s, a cultural space in Chennai.
My work is grounded in an interest in the tactility of handmade objects and analog processes. My visual language and design approach is shaped by experiments in materials and textures.

As part of my assignments at Pratt, I had to produce a publication of my thesis progress, halfway through the Fall 2024 semester.
Since my thesis was about images/representations, and the information that is lost in the process of representing an idea in the form of an image, I decided to simply scan the google doc I was writing in, and print it out.
During the process, other interesting details crept in - fingerprints, dust, scratches. The scanner was slightly wobbly, and accidently caused the ipad to scroll, causing two of the images to be sliced off.
